      To many enthusiasts of sports movies, BULL DURHAM is one of the best baseball films ever. Written and directed by a former minor league ballplayer, it captures a lot--on the field and off. Ron Shelton narrates his own book about the making of the movie in a comfortable way. He's not a polished narrator, but his style is enjoyable. As he lays out plot points, behind-the-scenes moments, and character development, listeners can sense his enthusiasm about a film that clearly has resonated with fans over the years. When describing this meeting or that, the listener can feel his excitement, annoyance, or gleefulness.
