Enter handsome actor Royce Elliot and the Holiday Channel film crew who have come to town. Not only does Royce seem to like the idea of providing free promo, but he also seems interested in Sylvie. Family and friends are also pitching in to help, including Abe DeWitt, whose goat farm provides Sylvie with her star ingredients. Things seem to be looking up, but Royce's advances begin to feel calculated, Sylvie's family starts causing trouble, and Abe might have feelings for her too. Sylvie is forced to confront the future she wants, despite her longing for the past. Evans neatly distills everything wonderful about the Hallmark Channel's holiday movies into a sweet romance bright with seasonal cheer and graced with a marvelously engaging protagonist, who discovers she doesn't need a Cinderella-style makeover to live her best life.
